Bond Graph Model of a Hydrostatic Drive Test Stand

ABSTRACT Atest stand was assembled to demonstrate the characteristics of a hydrostatic transmission. The same electric induction motor was used as a prime mover for the hydraulic pump, and as an absorber for the power output from the hydraulic motor. Performance was simulated using a bond graph model, and general qualitative agreement with experimental measurements was observed. The model adequately predicted the steady-state operating speeds, but calculated system pressure did not correlate closely with experimental pressure, probably because the dry friction torque and leakage loss coefficients were underestimated..
