Simulation and analysis of FC network

The modeling and simulation are the flexible and effective methods to design and evaluate FC-SAN. We study the impact of link failure on performance of FC network with a core/edge topology using SANSim, a simulation tool for storage area network. Simulation results show that the maximum network throughputs are reduced to 50% in the worst case with one network link failure even in the full redundant FC network design. The results also show that the network performance is sensitive to the location of failure.
