Droplet deposition and entrainment modeling based on the three-fluid model

Abstract New droplet deposition and entrainment models are developed for the purpose of applying the dryout prediction accuracy using `the film dryout criterion'. Validation studies of the models were also carried out using an analysis code FIDAS based on the three-fluid model. The models were tested on the flow rates of entrainment and liquid film for the adiabatic annular mist flow. The capabilities of the models were successfully demonstrated by comparisons between the calculations and measurements of Hewitt et al. and Keeys et al. in AERE, Harwell, and Wurtz, RISO.
