Angle Pick-up Method in Conical Scan Up-down Stepped-frequency Radar

In practical radar systems,up-down steppedfrequency signal is usually adopted to overcome the sensitivity to velocity of the normal stepped-frequency signal.Angle information of targets in conical scan stepped-frequency radar is contained the in echo amplitude.In this paper,angle pick-up method and exact formula in conical scan up-down stepped-frequency radar are presented.Such factors affecting angle-measurement accuracy such as noise,leakage and missile rotation are analyzed,and algorithms to reduce their effects are presented.By theoretical analysis and simulation,the angle pickup method is proved to be valid,and although influenced by many non-ideal factors,angle-measurement accuracy can be improved by proper processing methods.
