La litterature medicale hautement specialisee est analysee par des experts exterieurs aux revues qui publient cette litterature. Afin de fonder les relations entre auteurs, experts, autorites institutionnelles et editeurs, l'American Medical Association organise un congres sur ce mode de publication de la litterature biomedicale, en mai 1989 a Chicago
