Basic image transformations based on virtual spiral architecture

Spiral architecture is a new image representation model which is inspired from anatomical considerations of the primatepsilas vision. This architecture adopts the hexagonal unit rather than the square one to shape corresponding images. In order to get over the limitation in rectangular architecture which is used in present image capturing and displaying, an algorithm for virtual spiral architecture is presented in this paper. It can reduce the computational burden remarkably in basic image transformations based on spiral architecture. Experiment result and data analysis show the effectiveness and practicability of spiral architecture in practical application.
