콤팩트 디지털 카메라의 노출에 따른 색 재현력에 대한 연구

The purpose of this study is to identify proper exposure of compact digital cameras for Consumer, find the reasons why manufacturers use such standard values of exposure setting and analyze the effects of exposure on color reproduction of cameras. For this study, four types of compact digital cameras were selected. The findings of this study are as followed; -First, in the test on a dynamic range and a Gamma value, all cameras tested showed the same measurement value in both the exposure value and compensated exposure. However, a Gamma value has been increased in compensated exposure of the cameras. Second, for the analysis on color reproduction, cameras showed excellent color reproduction performance, which represented close to the original colors, when a picture was taken in compensated exposure, rather than exposure value. However, can excellent color reproduction performance guarantee production of a `good` image? It seems that accurate color reproduction performance may not generate `good` images. The important point to be considered in this analysis on color reproduction of compact digital cameras is that all four cameras had higher saturation value (C) and brightness value (L) in exposure value than compensated exposure, maintaining color value (H). It seems that manufacturers intentionally increase the values in order to improve perception of a picture by increasing brightness and saturation value appropriately and present clean and vivid colors without using post correction programs. Further study may be necessary to investigate color preference of ordinary people in future and can be conducted in connection with this study.
