Parameters Identification and Dynamical Modeling of Excitation System and Generator in a Steam Power Plant

This paper presents a mathematical modelling and parameter identification for the excitation system and synchronous generator in a single framework. For modelling process, the seventh-order dynamical model of synchronous generator and detailed model of excitation system cards are considered. Then, the parameters of overall model are identified using an optimization algorithm. Data for identification process is acquired from online measurements of a 330MW steam unit which is obtained from a data acquisition system. The validation process is implemented through Power Factory DIgSILENT software and the accurate matching between simulation results and measurement data states the proper accuracy of the proposed model.
