Backscattering enhancement: from radar cross sections, to electron and light localizations to rough surface scattering

The historical development of backscattering enhancement and recent work are reviewed. Three topics are discussed. They are: enhanced radar cross section and scintillation index in turbulence and enhanced imaging, enhanced backscattering from particles and photon localization, and enhanced backscattering from rough surfaces.<<ETX>>
