Liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy in a patient with hepatoblastoma: Tc-99m sulfur colloid imaging.

Hepatoblastoma was diagnosed in a 10-year-old boy. A preoperative Tc-99m sulfur colloid scintigraphic study revealed a large, well-defined photopenic area in the right lobe of the liver. Afterward the patient underwent right hepatic lobectomy. A follow-up Tc-99m sulfur colloid scan performed 3 months after surgery showed tracer uptake in the region of the right lobe of the liver, confirming its prompt and complete regeneration.
