Power Management of Aggregate Electric Water Heater Loads by Voltage Control

This paper discusses a voltage-control strategy for power management of aggregate residential electric water heater (EWH) load. It is shown that by proper control of EWH operating voltage, the aggregate EWH power demand during peak-load hours can be reduced without necessarily sacrificing customers' comfort level.
