Thermoluminescence of BaTiO3 crystals

A study of the thermoluminescence (TL) of BaTiO3 samples, X-irradiated at 20K, is presented. The dependence of TL on crystal purity and irradiation dose has been obtained. The variation of the absorption spectrum during thermal annealing and its relation with TL peaks has been investigated. Moreover, the spectral composition and kinetic order of all TL peaks has been determined. A discussion on the origin of thermoluminescence and X-ray induced luminescence in BaTiO3 is presented.
