Pavement Design for Various Levels of Traffic Volume

Abstract : The design of a flexible pavement airfield requires that the traffic volume be considered as one of the parameters. Criteria are presented that allow the airfield designer to design an airfield for any anticipated traffic volume by decreasing the basic design thickness for less-than-capacity traffic and increasing the basic design thickness for traffic volumes greater-than-capacity operation.
