High Performance Geocomputing and Its Applications in Deep Mining

This presentation introduces the current state of our group work in advanced geocomputing with a focus on our ongoing research efforts in high performance computational model and software PANDAS (Parallel Adaptive static/dynamic Nonlinear Deformation Analysis System) and its related applications in deep mining issues. PANDAS, a novel supercomputer simulation tool, has been developed for simulating the highly non-linear coupled geomechanical-fluid flow-thermal systems involving heterogeneously fractured geomaterials at different spatial and temporal scales. A few of benchmark and application examples are presented to demonstrate its stability and usefulness in simulating the deep mining related issues.
