A Static Var Compensator controlled topology for a grid connected photovoltaic system

In this paper, the authors present a controlled topology for a grid connected photovoltaic system (GCPS) including Static Var Compensators (SVC). The proposed system is consisted of a photovoltaic array, a boost converter, an inverter, a non linear load and a grid. The adaptation of the needed voltage required by the PWM controlled inverter is provided by a boost converter. The used inverter generates a three phase supply that will be used and connected to the grid through a filter grid. Three Thyristors Switched Capacitors (TSC) based SVC are used to perform the proposed controlled topology system.
