ADECOUPLINGESTIMATIONOFTWO-DIMENSIONAL DIRECTIONOFARRIVALFOR NONCIRCULAR SIGNALS

Mostexisting twodimensional (2-d) direction ofarrival (DOA)estimation methods arebased oncircular signal model. Little effort hasbeenspentindeveloping 2-d DOA estimation fornoncircular (NC)signals because the estimation of thenatural phaseincreases the computational complexity. Inthis paper, wepropose a new2-dDOA estimation method NC signals based onLshape array. Thefirst dimensional angle isestimated by polynomial rooting technique, thesecond dimensional angleisobtained through decoupling. Due tothe noncircularity oftheimpinging sources, theproposed methodisabletohandle moresignals thancircular method. Simulation results showthattheproposed method canobtain higher resolution andlower root mean square error (RMSE)incomparison withcircular method under thesameconditions.
