Simulation analysis on steel structure erection procedure of the National Stadium

The paper presents the principle for determining the largespan steel structure erection scheme, the layout and major erection procedures for temporary supporting tower in the design of the National Stadium. Some elements are reactivated step by step to simulate erection procedure of steel structure in structural calculation. The analytical results show that the erection sequence has great influence on internal force and deformation of the members.Structural optimization, saving of steel tonnage and shortening of construction period can be achieved by adjusting the erection sequence of the members.Reactive force of the temporary supporting tower and deformation of the steel structure after unloading of the temporary supporting tower are estimated.Causes for erection errors and changes in structural geometry caused by the post-erection of the secondary structure of the shoulder and the top surface are analyzed in details and key technical aspects for erection of the steel structure are proposed.
