Product information structure as the basis for the control of design and engineering processes

Applying Concurrent Engineering in a company has a significant influence on the way information is dealt with. This influence is discernible for information on orders, products and resources. The impact of this influence on the product is determined, from which an extended role for the product information structure comes forward. On this product information structure, the overall product life cycle model and the information management tasks are projected. This obviously implies a number of requirements to be imposed on such a structure.
