Building Information Modeling and Large Construction Site Health and Safety Management “Il Building Information Modeling e la Gestione della Sicurezza nei Cantieri di Grandi Dimensioni” “Building Information Modeling and Large Construction Site Health and Safety Management”

Building Information Modeling has been increasingly used for the Management of Construction Sites in terms of Health and Safety Management. The authors, continuing a strand of research already initiated elsewhere, have, first of all, developed the use of model checking to improve the content of the Health and Safety Construction upon the use of an Information Model in order to enhance the Logistics (and Safety) Management on a Large Construction Site. The main findings stemming from the research programme have shown that it is possible to establish a real-time communication and information management system so to identify the crucial interferences into the road network of the construction site, as well as so to enhance the overhauling of the Health and Safety-Related issues.
