A new scheme of Staic VAR Generation employing a Three Phase Full Controlled Asymmetrically Fired Line commutated rectifier with a single inductor as load is proposed. The technique controls the system lagging ractive power without drawing any active power from the line. The scheme uses only one inductor and hence economical than Thyristor Switched Reactor (TCR) scheme.
