A CMOS smart focal plane for infra-red imagers

We have designed a CMOS integrated circuit array to perform analog image processing tasks on-chip. The array is capable of real-time spatial and temporal filtering, as well as edge and/or motion enhancement effects. Each cell in the array includes bump pads for bonding the array to HgCdTe LWIR detector arrays, as well as visible light photo-transistors for testing the chip's functionality prior to hybridization.
