In the present paper, flow fields around a semi-planing hull with a transom stern have been studied numerically and experimentally. The numerical computations are performed at the identical conditions with experiments. The three-dimensional momentum (Euler equations) and continuity equations are solved using a finite difference scheme based on MAC(Marker and Cell) method. A rectangular grid system is used and a staggered variable mesh system is employed in all directions. The convection terms are evaluated by hybrid or third-order upwind scheme. The computational results arc compared with the experimental ones to show reasonable agreements.
