Radiation characteristics of the EISCAT VHF parabolic cylindrical reflector antenna

A study of the radiation characterisitics of the European Incoherent Scatter Association (EISCAT) cylindrical reflector antenna in Tromso Norway is presented. The radiation patterns are computed with attention given to such effects as blockage and reflection from the supports of the line feed as well as direct radiation from the feed. The computer programs are time-efficient and accurate. They are based on mathematical formulations given in this and three companion papers. The calculated patterns agree well with measured drift scans of the exterrestrial radio source Cassiopeia A.
