Simulation Analysis on Inrush Current of Single-phase Transformer Based on PSCAD

The causes,characteristics and impact of inrush current were briefly introduced.By using powers system blockset of PSCAD,a simulation model was built to analyze the saturation characteristics of transformer.Taking the single-phase transformer for an example,a simulation model of the transformer with saturation characteristics was built by PSCAD software.The model simulated the varieties of inrush current and the influence in the different close time.Compared with simulation results and theoretical research results combined with harmonic analysis,the results showed that simulation analysis was simple and effective.This will provide the basis for the identification and settlement of inrush current of transformer.
