Pandemic (H1N1) 2009

Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 recently was  identified to be a swine-origin influenza virus because virus had gene that was derived from the swine influenza virus in North  America. The virus was identified soon after to be swine influenza virus and other genes from human, avian, and Eurasian swine influenza viruses which was “quadruple reassortant virus”. First influenza patient was detected in March 2009 in Mexico and spread to United States of America. Pandemic has spread internationally with mortality reports. This disease has spread enough to WHO to move to phase 6 alert. In May 2009, pandemic influenza A (H1N1) virus was identified in Thailand. Data from 2009 July 29, a total of 8,000 cases and 65 died. This article presents about  epidemiology, transmission, clinical manifestation, treatment and prevention.
