Analysis of size of tree crown on aerial image using circle unification

This paper presents an image processing method to calculate tree crown area. At first, the crown and its components are displayed with circles. Then, circles that include little tree area are deleted and other circles are unified to each crown area. The method using circle unification was adapted to aerial images and individual crown area was computed.
