A Lensing Case for the 5G Handset Antennas

In this paper, we present a novel approach to a functional rim-fixture as a cover of the smart phone to increase the antenna gain of the 5G beamforming structure. The 5G antenna is put on the top side of the phone platform and under the covering fixture that prevents the input impedance match and radiation characteristics from degradation. The cover has three usable types of dielectrics and these are segmented and aligned in series. The acceptable antenna characteristics are presented with the different angles of the beam which remain unchanged after adopting the lensing cover.
