A Boundary Integral Equations Method for Computing Inertial and Damping Characteristics of Arbitrary Contours in Deep Fluid

The paper compares added mass and damping coefficients of various sections with results of different programs, besides others also the program Hmasse using a Rankine source method. Because the latter results were grossly in error for some section shapes, I revised the program so that it is now suitable for all the sections handled in the discussed paper. Fig.1 contains results of the new code for the “most difficult” section shape: the thin rectangular section (B/T = 10).
