Application of Spatial Error in Five Axis NC Machine Tools

In order to express the spatial error of machine tool more directly and intuitively, this paper presents a mathematical model of the spatial error curve and surface of NC machine tool based on NURBS. At first, this paper introduces the basic theory of NURBS. Then the improved genetic algorithm is proposed to optimize the node vector and weight factor of NURBS, and the mathematical model of spatial error is established. This paper search parameter error mathematical expression models by a binary search method. This method can rapidly access to the space error of the machine tool work space. Finally, the application of NURBS curve and surface mathematical model in the spatial error of five axis machine tool is proposed.
