Analysis of Distribution Power-Line Carrier Propagation by Transfer Impedance

Distribution power-line carrier is used to provide two-way communications for full function load management systems. Because of the low impedance of the distribution lines, and the fact that the impedance changes with the line load, any attempt to match the transmitter and receiver to a characteristic impedance would be impractical.
