Ocular changes in granulomatous ileocolitis.

The ocular manifestations of granulomatous ileocolitis include lid and periorbital edema, recurrent conjunctivitis, scleritis, episcleritis, myositis with extraocular muscle paresis, marginal keratitis and corneal ulcers, recurrent iridocyclitis, retinal edema and vascular engorgement, retrobulbar neuritis, and rarely neuroretinitis. A 17-year-oldboy with histologically proven granulomatous ileocolitis had recurrent conjunctivitis, bilateral iridocyclitis, marginal corneal infiltrates, and bilateral severe neuroretinitis. The bilateral, nongranulomatous iridocyclitis and neuroretinitis were cured with systemic and local steroid therapy.
