Robust Optimum Beamforming via SOCP for Expanded Acoustic Vector Sensor Array

This paper describes a new robust optimum beamforming approach to expanded acoustic vector sensor array with manifold vectors perturbation. In this approach, an optimization criteria for vector array is presented and the corresponding convex second-order cone programming implementations are used. A new combined beamforming method for acoustic vector sensor array is put forward. The results indicated that the width of main beam is stable and the sidelobe is lower than -40dB in the array position error. It can provide good robustness against manifold vectors uncertainty. We believe this design approach provide a new thought for the latest aviation sonar.
