Improved Pulse Program for Long-Range Heteronuclear Correlation

Abstract An improved method of long-range correlation based on 2D DEPT with suppression of one-bond correlations is demonstrated and evaluated. The experiment has the advantages over other long-range heteronuclear correlation experiments of yielding a pure-phase absorption spectrum with suppression of short-range correlations, and the sequence contains fewer pulses than equivalent experiments previously reported, thereby reducing accumulated errors in pulse duration and phase. The application of the method to assignment is demonstrated with reference to the spectra of the aromatic hydrocarbons fluoranthene, phenanthrene, benzanthracene, and benzo [ g ] chrysene.
