Výzkum uplatnění znalostního managementu v českých podnicích

In the globalized world, Czech economy faces many challenges brought by the processes of integration. The crucial factors for companies that want to succeed in the global competition are knowledge and abilities to use the knowledge in the best possible way. With the growing need of knowledge, significance of knowledge management grows, as well as tools of knowledge ma- nagement in organizations. Knowledge management is the tool which can, to a substantial extent, determine the near future of Czech companies. The purpose of the work is with the results of a questionnaire survey with the topic of „Research of the state of knowledge management in companies in the Czech Republic“ realized in the spring 2009 in the cooperation of the University of Hradec Kralove and the consulting company Per Partes Consulting, s.r.o under the patronage of the European Union.1000 organizations active in the Czech Republic were addressed in total, across all industries of BCEA (OKEC) with the focus on medium and big companies. 132 filled out questionnaires were acquired. Questions from the questionnaire survey were divided into three significant areas. In the first area, the aim was to find out what leads companies to be interested in knowledge management and what phase of its use they find themselves in. The second area was focused on the corporate environment as a tool for support of acquiring and sharing of knowledge. The last part of the questionnaire was focused on methods and particular procedures used in companies, which could be taken advantage of in connection with the implementation of knowledge management. As it followed from the survey results, Czech companies are interested in knowledge manage- ment, but they come across many obstacles, which finally discourage them from its consistent implementation. Within the horizon of three years, companies plan to deal with knowledge mana- gement much more intensively and even to remove potential barriers of its introduction. On the whole, it can be stated that companies consider knowledge management a significant tool for increasing their competitive ability.
