The training of the next generation of surgeons in Australia

The profession of surgery is a calling in which the standards can only be responsibly set by the profession itself. The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) has been training surgeons in Australia and New Zealand since 1927. Many challenges to modern surgical training are shared within an increasingly globalised surgical community, while specific local issues add their own challenges to the continued provision of high quality surgical training.
