WCDMA (wideband code division multiple access) cell search method and device

The embodiment of the invention provides a WCDMA (wideband code division multiple access) cell search method and device, aiming at reducing network search time. The WCDMA cell search method provided by the invention comprises: coarse scanning is carried out in the given frequency band according to preset steps, close scanning is carried out on each frequency point subject to coarse scanning, and 5M frequency multiplier scanning is carried out on each frequency point subject to close scanning; and the frequency points which are successfully searched and frequency band numbers are recorded. In the cell search process of the embodiment of the invention, the characteristic of a WCDMA signal is utilized, the WCDMA signal and a GSM signal are distinguished, and coarse scanning, close scanning and 5M frequency multiplier scanning are sequentially carried out, thus the network search time is reduced while that almost every cell is searched is ensured.
