High resolution studies of the electromechanical properties of bone during remodeling

Knowledge of the electromechanical properties of bone is important in the development of understanding of bone remodeling. The scanning evanescent microwave probe (SEMP) is a new non-contact method to image electrical properties of bone. Together with the scanning acoustic microscope (SAM), we are studying the electromechanical properties of bone at high resolution, i.e. of the order of microns.
