Operational research in practice : experiences of an or group in industry

Much has been written about the “failure of OR”, its causes and possible remedies. The “practicality gap”, with theoreticians in “ivory towers” on the one hand and practitioners on the other, is discussed at length. Literature on successful application of OR is less abundant.
