Review of bounding techniques in shakedown and ratcheting at elevated temperature

This review discusses the progressive distortion produced by cyclic loading, which is an important consideration in the design of structures operating at high temperature, such as pressure vessels. The 2nd chapter discusses ratchetting effects in the absence of creep; the 3rd, interactions of elastic, creep, and plastic deformations; the 4th interaction of elastic and creep deformations alone; and the 5th ratchetting produced by geometric effects. Application to a reactor fuel can is made. 34 fig., 67 references. (DLC)
