Development ofaSensor System forOutdoor Service Robot

Theoutdoor service robot, whichwecall OSR-02, ispresently under development intended forcleaning up urban areas bymeansofcollecting discarded trash suchasplastic bottles, cans, plastic bagsandsoon.Additionally, we havedeveloped anovel sensor system fortheachievement ofthetask bythis robot; itisconstructed withLRF(Laser Rnagefinder), twocameras, andthree stepping motors. Inthis paper, wedescribe thesensor system andits applications.
