Definition and Use of ‘Human-Automation Interaction’ - Time in Production

There is a need to further develop measureable methods and models in the ‘Human- Automation Interaction’ area. Since time is a decisive factor in production, the aim of this paper is to define interaction in relation to time i.e. interaction-time, and to investigate how this can be used in practice. Results from a case study show that interaction-time can be used to study bottlenecks and to suggest training or support tools.
