Generation of a high-power Airy beam by coherent combining technology

A new method to generate an Airy beam by using coherent combining technology is proposed. A high-power Airy beam of large scale can be obtained by this method in practice. To see the validity of the method, the difference between the ideal Airy beam and the combining beam has been studied theoretically. From the comparison of the propagation between the ideal Airy beam and the coherent combining beam, we can see that the coherent combining beam has the same properties as those of the ideal Airy beam. This approach offers a new way of controlling and manipulating the fields of an Airy beam which can extend the Airy beam to uses in long distance propagation, such as optical communication and laser defense.
