Conductivity and photoconductivity of Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3/LaMnO3 heterostructure

Abstract The results of the study of high conducting areas at the interface between ferroelectric and insulating oxides Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3/LaMnO3 are presented. It is shown that the electrical resistance of the heterostructure decreases significantly with cooling and exhibits metallic behavior at low temperatures, and its properties depend on magnetic field application. The effect of green (514 nm) and infrared (1028 nm) pulsed laser light on Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3/LaMnO3 heterostructure electrical resistance leads to a decrease in the electrical resistance. It is assumed that the effect is related to polarization screening in the ferroelectric film, and atomic force microscopy studies confirm this hypothesis.
