Experimental Study on Corn Harvester for Intercropping Pattern

Abstract. In order to solve the problem of corn harvesting mechanization in crop intercropping pattern, a new type of two rows self-propelled corn combine harvester-4YZ-2450 corn harvester with compact structure, reasonable layout was developed successfully. The harvester is characterized by perfect function, transmission simple, and has strong adaptability to different spacing, which with higher quality of harvest. The harvester can carry out corn harvesting mechanization in intercropping pattern within narrow row spacing of 30~60cm and width of 150cm. A lot of field experiments were carried out in soybean and corn intercropping pattern, the test results showed that the improved new type of corn harvester can complete the corn ears harvest, collect ears, straw crushing and returning to field, hydraulic automatic unloading and so on, and there is no damage to soybeans on both sides of the harvester, it meets the agronomic requirement of corn mechanized harvesting in intercropping pattern. The corn ear loss rate was 1.1%, kernel broken rate was 0.515%, kernel loss rate was 0.576%, the rate of corn ear miscellaneous content was 2.46%, and qualified rate of stalk chopping length was 89.5%, the machine harvesting productivity was 0.53hm 2 /h, and all performance indicators are reached national standards. Solving the problem of corn harvesting mechanization in intercropping pattern with the new type of corn harvester was developed, it provides technologies and equipment for the promotion and development of intercropping pattern.
