PHOSPHOLE SULFIDES AS 6-ELECTRON η4-c4, η1-S CHELATING LIGANDS

Abstract The reaction of 1-phenyl-3,4-dimethylphosphole sulfide with [M(CO)3] sources (M=Cr, Mo) yields the corresponding η4-C4, η1-S-M(CO)3 complexes. The X-ray crystal structure analysis of the Cr-complex reveals an original type of complexation of the P=S unit which lies half-way between a ηt-S and a η2-P=S bonding mode.
