Organ distribution of fibrinolytic activity in man.

In necropsy samples of lung taken from 2 patients who had undergone radiotherapy for metastatic cancer, irradiated portions of lung showed much higher fibrinolytic activity than nonirradiated areas. Lung generally showed weaker fibrinolytic activity than most other organs. The finding of increased activity in irradiated human tissue is in agreement with the rise in activity previously found in irradiated animals. (H.H.D.)
