A Cloud-Based Approach to Assess the Quality of Local Transportation Services in Apulia Region

Modern passengers require reliable Transportation Services (TSs) Therefore, providers and operators should steer their current offering towards novel approaches guaranteeing improvements in Quality of Service (QoS) and sustainable development of urban infrastructures. In this paper, a cloud-based approach aiming at assessing the QoS in a specific scenario such as the one of Local Transportation Services (LTSs) in Apulia Region (Southern Italy) is proposed. The entire QoS cycle (i.e., design, implementation and monitoring) for smart mobility is addressed, and a supporting platform, exploiting a microservice-based architecture and named UCoMS, is described. In order to validate the pilot case, a set of quality indicators and service levels grounded in European and Italian regulatory frameworks has been considered as well.
