Solving engineering optimization problems using the Bees Algorithm

This paper describes application of the Bees Algorithm to multi-objective optimization problems. The Bees Algorithm is a search procedure inspired by the foraging behavior of honey bees. The proposed multi-objective Bees algorithm is developed by using principle of multi-objective optimization. Three problems in mechanical design, 2-bar truss design, 120-bar truss design and coil spring design were used to be solved by the Bees Algorithm. The results show that multi-objective Bees algorithm has effectiveness and potential for solving multi-objective optimal non-linear space truss design.
