Optimal design of portal frame structure based on OOP technology of ANSYS

Light section steel structures have many advantages in the construction period and structural adaptability,and lightweight steel structure portal frames have been widely used for the less consumption of steel,but proper structural dimensions are important for such building structures. In this paper,the structural optimization design is introduced based on the principles of finite element analysis(FEA) and the technology of Object Oriented Programming(OOP) in the software ANSYS,and a case study of the portal frame of a factory building is presented. The mathematic model is described and the relations of the optimization number,the total consumption of steel and the section size are obtained.
