Biomolecular Feedback Systems

The aim of synthetic biology is to build engineering devices using biological processes. Potential applications of such systems range from the production of specific materials (such as biofuels and drugs), through biological sensing and diagnostics (chemical detection, medical diagnostics) to the design of biological machines. The book under review provides an introduction to the principles and tools required for modelling and analysing bimolecular systems. In particular, it illustrates the use of feedback and control to ensure the correct operating behaviour of more complex devices obtained by connecting simple systems.
